Some friends had recommended Maurizio, and we found him wonderful to work with; very friendly, prompt, professional and flexible. We saw more sights in Rome in four hours than we thought possible with plenty of interesting commentary on the city and the sights as we traveled around in a very comfortable van. He also suggested restaurants. We then traveled to Pompeii and the beautiful town of Positano in comfort with out the stress of a rental car or driving those narrow, winding cliff side roads. I highly recommend MB Tours. Thank you Maurizio!

It was a clear decision, and I was not wrong. I even hired Maurizio services for Livorno and Sicily ports. Maurizio is not only a person who knows Rome by heart and loves to share details that satisfy curiosity for people with different historic tastes. On top of all his knowledge about Italian history, you can count on him for anything you need, because he will make space to accommodate every single request. It might be to take you to eat the best Lasagna Parmigiana, or take you to eat the best gelato, or take you to the authentic Roma soccer/football shop because your son or daughter wants to buy a souvenir. His Mercedes is even equipped with wifi. This was extremely useful in communicating with our relatives back in the US. The car is brand new and his very comfortable seats, the AC was very nice because the day we went to Rome it was very hot outside. The next day, with Maurizio's services too, we landed in Cinque Terre, and we also got an amazing tour guide. His name is Giulano and he reminded us of Maurizio and once again I was extremely satisfied with his services. Giulano showed us Cinque Terre and with such extreme professionalism that we were reminded of Maurizio once again. Along with telling us the history of Cinque Terre and the region of Liguria, Giulano resulted in being a wonderful person with a great feel for humor. He taught us about the centuries old rivalry between Pisa and Livorno, and he resulted in being a Livornese being extremely proud of his city and ancestors. Last but not least Filippo in Sicily who had the kindness to show us the city of Savoca where The Godfather was filmed. This was a surprise for my husband which Filippo was an accomplice until the last minute in order to avoid for my husband to know where we were going. He was also very kind and treated us very well. In all, it was a wonderful experience and I recommend Maurizio Services to anyone who wants to maximize their time in Italy. It is money well spent. Both of my children were sad once all the tours were over because they all were very kind towards us and this is the second time we use his services but if we went back for a third time we would have no doubt in who to choose.     We had to do a night tour as we booked last minute and MB Tours had been very busy with cruise excursions in the day. You would not know that this was the case, he was enthusiastic and gave us a great tour.
    We did not have any young children with us , but I would not hesitate to recommend them to families. I would trust them to know what would work best for any type of group and would look for his recommendations.

The team provided child seats without fuss unlike other companies and on the day of a (nervous) arrival we were met by a smiling driver with a clear named sign at the airport in Rome. I was then over the moon to be escorted to an immaculate Mercedes Minivan having seen other passengers wait for shared transfers and step onto poorly looking vehicles. The journey itself was brisk (like most roman drivers) however the driver was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. Similarly on the return back to the airport, the comms were excellent and another driver picked us up promptly from the hotel however this time the driver provided what seemed like a mini tour of roma (with narrative) back to the airport. I would have no hesitation recommending MB and will definitely use MB again on our return. Grazie a presto!

We contacted him again for our recent trip in Nov. 2017 and are so glad we did.... read more He picked us up from our cruise ship, brought us to the hotel and made suggestions on how we could spend the rest of the day. Based on his recommendation, we visited the Jewish Ghetto, toured the oldest synagogue in Europe and had a delicious dinner. The next day was spent with him on a tour of Tuscany. He knew where to go and what to do to make the most of our visit. On the third day he picked us up from the hotel for the ride to the airport. His charming personality, punctuality and ability to tailor the visit to our interests made this an outstanding, amazing experience.

    In Florence we were met by Giuliano and he provided with us a day of history, anecdotes, and genuine hospitality; his pride for the area was evident. We started by visiting the leaning tower of Pisa, quick walk through the attractions and then a drive through the countryside to Florence. The drive included illustrious views of Florence from the Tuscan hillsides; a Michelangelo view of Florence, a stop at a monastery to stretch our legs, and an overview of italia history about the events that shaped the provinces and formed the country.
    Giuliano "parked" while we shopped at some great markets; flea markets as well as leather craftsmen and local artisans. Lunch on the patio at ZaZa's was a delicious pasta with white truffles - absolutely splendid. We topped the day with the 1st "best" gelato in all of Italy.

    Day Two and Maurizio met us dockside for our day trip to Rome. Maurizio's tour of Rome included stops at all the major attractions; using the van service provided our group quick access and proximity to the over crowded sites, such as the coliseum and the Vatican; shhhh, we were doubled parked at St Peter's basilica. I had no idea Rome traffic was like a thousand chariot drivers, heading in 20 different directions! Maurizio grew up in Rome and knows all the shortcuts and side streets.
    Again, we were provided with shopping opportunities and lunch was at a quaint family place, la Tavernetta. I had the "specials", a creamy vegetable soup that was absolutely incredible and the gnocchi made by mama, need i saw more! We then started back to the ship with a stop for the other "best" gelato in Italy; with stops where ever we requested along the way; variety store for cokes and potato chips etc.
    Maurizio is a consummate professional, genuine and courteous, he provides excellent value for the fee. I have traveled to many places and been on many bus tours, taxi tours and walking tours. Maurizio and Giuliano provided me with an Italy experience that was unique and truly awesome.

We spent an entire day with him going down to Pompeii and driving up Mt. Vesuvius. He took us to a little shop to enjoy buffalo mozzarella sandwiches too! Our last day in Rome, he took us to a wonderful local place for gelato! Maurizio was always accommodating to our wishes and I would strongly recommend him to anyone wishing to enjoy their trip to Rome. The van he drove was very comfortable for the 7 of us, with plenty of room for us and our luggage.

    Sono stata a Roma per tre giorni, insieme a mia figlia di 4 anni, e ci ha fatto vedere tutti i posti più belli della Capitale e dintorni, venendo incontro a tutte le nostre esigenze (e con una bambina di 4 anni non sono poche, a partire dagli orari, passando per le innumerevoli soste e finendo con la necessità di distrarla negli spostamenti più lunghi) senza mai perdere il sorriso.
    ci ha consigliato anche dove mangiare, e non è mai stata una delusione.
    Consiglio vivamente la MB Tours.

Professional, knowledgable, thoughtful and especially great with families including children. Another family traveled with us on the tour to Positano and Maurizio really looked out for the children. I would choose him again and give him my highest personal recommendation!!! The service was great and the attention to detail of the city attractions was exactly what we expected. Always on time and we traveled in a very comfortable 9 passenger Mercedes van. Good value for the money.

    Mauricio personally conducted the tour in Rome. He had tickets already for us for the areas we wanted to see. He personally escorted us into the Colosseum & Vatican to avoid long lines which would have extended our stay by at least 1-1/2 hours at each place. He also gave us a map of the Vatican, museum, 16th Chapel & Cathedral which helped us maximize our tour experience in 3 hrs.
    We were able to see up close the Roman Forum, Palatine hill, Circus Maximus & Wedding cake building. We walked around the Trevi fountain, plaza Navonne, Spanish steps, Pantheon and 2 different overlooks of Rome. At the overlooks he pulled out his own map to show us the significant sights we had seen or were in the process of seeing. All this from 7:45am to 6:15pm. So as one can see, Maurizio absolutely knows his way in Rome!

    In Florence Johnathon took us to see Pisa & gave us the history on the way there. He was flexible to detour from the main highway as we headed to Florence & drove for a small period through a country road in Tuscany to enjoy the landscape & stopped to take pictures. In Florence, Jonathan's 1st stop was at Michelangelo Square for an amazing overview of Florence. He then drove us by the significant sights in Florence to orient us before he dropped us off at the Cathedral. Everything was within walking distance & absolutely beautiful. He picked us up by a carousel in a square where there was great shopping as the final activity before picking us up. It was an amazing day in Florence!

  • star rating  We are a group of 15 that recently travelled to Rome after completing a cruise that ended at port Civitavecchia, Italy. We wanted a pickup from the port to... read more our hotels in Rome then to see the Vatican. The next day we planned an all day tour of Rome which included the colosseum, the catacombs, the pantheon, Trevi fountain, parliament, and the Spanish steps with a lunch stop in between. The third day included a drop off from the hotel to the airport (FCO).

    Our experience with arranging all of these items with Maurizio at MB Tours Rome was exceptional. Maurizio was very responsive at all our inquiries including purchasing "skip the line" tickets for certain attractions such as the Vatican and the colosseum.

    Maurizio, Marco and Salvatore were our drivers over the three days. We received exceptional service from all of them. Maurizio in particular was so caring and courteous. Give the size of the group, we made a few adjustments to the itinerary on the fly. Maurizio was very accommodating and made it feel like it was no inconvenience at all.

    We would definitely recommend MB Tours to others travelling to Rome and the surrounding areas.

I have traveled with my family and I have traveled with friends. ... read more I would not even consider using another tour outfit. Why would I? MB Tours offers everything I seek as a tourist in a foreign country: 1) Typical of most Americans, I speak one language--English. My guide, Maurizio, speaks English very well. That is important to me. I have been on guided tours before where I have strained my ears to understand what the guide is saying. 2) Maurizio is professional. He is a good driver. I have never been fearful driving through congested areas in his van. Anyone who has experienced a cab ride in Rome, can appreciate the value of being in the hands of a safe driver. He is always perfectly groomed (so is his vehicle, for that matter). He shows up on time and he is not a clock watcher. 3) Maurizio has an in-depth knowledge of tour sites. He always presents Rome to me in a fresh way that makes the trip exhilarating. He shows me newly discovered archaeological sites that turn up as a result of local construction. He recommends new restaurants to me, those great haunts that are not frequented by tourists. He knows where to get the best gelato! I honestly cannot be short on praise for MB Tours because I have never had a single negative experience with them. Each time has been more than wonderful! MB Tours is the best!!!
